HOW TO TAKE CARE OF PLANTED BULBS

Once the flower is done flowering, you don’t want to waste the bulbs energy making the seeds within the petals, so you should snip off the head, preserving the energy within the bulb. Leave the foliage to turn yellow before you trim them.

Once folliage is yellow and trimmed to the soil, the bulbs will produce new babies for next spring.

Bone meal fertilizer is great to introduce during fall planting and when they are first popping up in spring.

After you pick your own tulips in our field, we have plenty of planters for sale - you can then create your own spring gardens. Seeing the colour after a long winter is comforting knowing we’re headed into a new season. Our children love spotting the crocus in the gardens; which is the first spring bulb to make an appearance.
